McCLELLAND BARCLAY Art Deco Gold with Silver Two-Tone Double Winged Brooch

McCLELLAND BARCLAY Art Deco Gold with Silver Two-Tone Double Winged Brooch

This McClelland Barclay brooch is part of the 1941 "Wings" series, which included brooches, bracelets and necklaces. This line of jewellery made by Rice-Weiner & Co. would have appealed to buyers' sense of patriotism, although America hadn't yet entered WWII. This brooch in a reverse colour variant, as well as a double winged hinged cuff bracelet are shown in the jewellery chapter on page 123 of my illustrated biography of this artist.

Year Made: 1941

Condition: very good vintage (there is an old solder mark from where the pin stem was professionnally repaired; it works well, and there is a rough point at the end of one wing)

Marks: Barclay
