McCLELLAND BARCLAY Art Deco Silvertone Metal Double Fish Brooch

McCLELLAND BARCLAY Art Deco Silvertone Metal Double Fish Brooch

This vintage McClelland Barclay brooch is made of silvertone metal. Two fat fish, possibly blowfish, overlap each other. Bubbles escape from their mouths. This brooch is shown on P. 128 of my book, and featured in this blog post about Mac's lifelong connection to the sea. You can also find a double horsehead brooch design has a similar look to this fish brooch.

Year Made: 1938 - 1943

Condition: very good vintage (originally there would have been pearls in the bubble depressions, and there is very slight movement between the two fish, which are riveted together)

Marks: McClelland Barclay
