McCLELLAND BARCLAY Sterling Silver Repoussé Art Deco Lilies Brooch, no back

McCLELLAND BARCLAY Sterling Silver Repoussé Art Deco Lilies Brooch, no back

This bouquet of lilies in this vintage sterling silver brooch have a very Art Deco look. The silver has been hammered from behind into the shape of the flowers, using a technique known as repoussé, often found in quality handmade Mexican jewellery. The brooch is open-backed, allowing us to see the repoussé work. A similar design can be found in this sterling silver lilies brooch with a beaded frame.
