McCLELLAND BARCLAY Sterling Silver Repoussé Lamb Brooch, Square Frame

McCLELLAND BARCLAY Sterling Silver Repoussé Lamb Brooch, Square Frame

McClelland Barclay sterling silver Art Deco jewellery often included flora and fauna motifs. This brooch, a young lamb, or pony is enjoying gambolling amid flowers, leaves and a tree. Surrounded by a square frame, this lovely brooch captures the feeling of Spring! This brooch was made using the repoussé technique by Rice-Weiner & Co. between 1938 - 1943. It has a solid back, and the sterling silver appears to have a finish on it. A similar sterling silver lamb brooch with a round frame is available. And you can find another little lamb atop a bronze cigarette box in my decor collection.
